What is different from the regular Aadhar card, i.e. for adults, from the child Aadhar card, is that adults have to register their biometric data such as their fingerprint and their iris scan. But no such information is required in the Bal Aadhar card.
To enroll a child for Bal Aadhar card, the parents need the birth certificate of the child and the Aadhar card number of either of the parents. Child Aadhar card is linked to the Aadhar card of either of the parents.
Once the child crosses the age of 5 years, the child Aadhaar card becomes invalid, and hence the child's biometric data needs to be updated. In doing so, the child is issued a regular Aadhar card like an adult.

Here below we have given some easy steps, by following which you can apply for your child's or child's child Aadhar card i.e. Blue Aadhar card.
- Step 1: Visit the enrollment center and fill the enrollment form.
- Step 2: Provide the birth certificate of the child along with mobile number and Aadhar card number of one of the parents.
- Step 3: Here a photo of your baby or girl child will be clicked.
- Step 4: Also here the Aadhar card number of the child will be linked with the Aadhar card number of his parents.
- Step 5: This will be followed by the confirmation and later the acknowledgment needs to be submitted.
Once the registration and confirmation process is complete, an SMS will be sent to the registered mobile number and the child Aadhar card of the newborn child will be issued within 60 days.
