Tatkal ticket booking for selected trains opens at the station one day prior to the date of journey. For those who want to book tatkal tickets in AC class (2A,3A,CC,EC,3E), the booking starts from 10 AM onwards. On the other hand, non-AC class (SL/FC/2S) tickets in Tatkal quota are booked from 11 am onwards.

Passenger Additional Charge is levied on IRCTC for all Tatkal bookings. This charge is 30% of the basic fare for all classes with Second Class where the spot charge has been fixed at 10%.
How To Book IRCTC Tatkal Train Ticket From Paytm App
Before you book Tatkal train tickets through Paytm app, please note here that ticket booking in Tatkal quota opens 30 minutes after IRCTC opening time on this platform.
Hence, the instant booking on Paytm starts at 10.30 am for AC class and 11.30 am for non-AC class. During this time you can book your train ticket.
- 1 - Let us tell you that first of all open the Paytm app on your Android mobile phone or iPhone. After that scroll down and go to ticket booking menu and click on train ticket.
- 2 - Now enter the name of the city where you want to go. After that select your travel date and tap on Train Search button.
- 3 - Search the train of your choice and click on Show Instant to know the availability and fare of Tatkal tickets for different classes on the date of your journey.
- 4 - Select your travel class and click on Book. You will be asked to enter your IRCTC User ID to proceed for ticket booking on Paytm App.
- 5 - Now you have to enter your complete details like Gender, Full Name, Age, Birth Preference, tap on Done and then proceed to book.
- 6 - Now select your preferred payment option (Paytm Wallet, Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI) and click on the Pay xxx button.
- 7 - Once the payment is done, you will be asked to enter your IRCTC password to complete the ticket booking process.
- 8 - You will get an instant e-ticket on the phone number and email id linked to your Paytm account. Download the e-ticket on your phone or take a print out as per your convenience.
