IRCTC will soon start WhatsApp food ordering service in trains. It is planning to launch its WhatsApp food ordering service on more train routes. With the help of an artificial intelligence-support chatbot, IRCTC will allow its train passengers to order food through e-catering service and book meals from WhatsApp numbers.
Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) started its online food delivery service in some trains last year through WhatsApp number +91 8750001323. After which after getting good feedback on this service, Railways will start this service in more trains.
"WhatsApp communication for e-catering service has been implemented on select trains and passengers," PTI quoted the Railways' statement as saying. Has started its e-Catering service through WhatsApp.The e-Catering service through WhatsApp has been divided into two steps and the first step is already completed.
In the first step, IRCTC passengers who have booked e-tickets received a message from a business WhatsApp number. The message will provide them the option to opt-in for the e-catering service. After receiving the message, passengers can book a meal of their choice from selected restaurants at their stations through the IRCTC e-Catering website. The food ordering service was straightforward without the need to download any apps.
Currently, IRCTC's e-catering service is serving around 50,000 meals to customers every day through both the website and the app. E-Catering Service allows train passengers to book food from their homes before boarding or during the journey on the train.
Once this service becomes available on more routes, it will provide passengers with an easy way to order food while traveling by train.

2 - Now enter your PNR number.
3 - Now search for restaurants near your selected train station to order food from.
4 - Place your order now and pay on delivery.
5 - The food will be delivered to your seat as soon as you reach your chosen station.
